Know any Microsoft Systems Administrators?

Here's another position, although it is only a three month, limited term engagement, it's a foot in the door at a good company located in Southeast Michigan, so I thought I'd post it here to see who's paying attention.

SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

Under general supervision, the Systems Administrator holds responsibility for management, backup and operation of Windows Server hardware and software problems within corporate Data Centers. 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages and provisions hardware, networking and operating systems for all Windows servers
  • Performs hardware maintenance on Windows-based systems
  • Monitors capacity, performance, alerts, logs on all Windows servers
  • Manages operation of Active Directory for local Organization Units; may be delegated some Domain/Forest-level responsibilities
  • Manages shared file and print services
  • Manages network user/group rights, client configuration, logon scripts and group policies
  • Manages desktop applications deployed over the network
  • Manages site backup environment including schedules, backup software, tape devices and media
  • Manages virus protection settings of Windows servers and clients in accordance to corporate security policies
  • Manages, tests and deploys Windows server and client OS patches
  • Manages Windows thin-client/terminal services
  • Enforces corporate Windows, Active Directory and LAN security policies
  • Tracks application usage and client-specific network audit requirements
  • Analyzes network server hardware requirements and makes recommendations to site management
  • Assists Desktop Analysts in troubleshooting desktop application connectivity issues
  • Maintains documentation of all supported systems
  • Provides on-call support as required
  • Other duties as required

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Knowledge:  

Associates Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school or equivalent experience and/or training.
MCSA/MCSE and CCNA certifications (or equivalent) preferred

Experience / Skill:          

  • 5+ years Windows 2000/2003 server/network administration
  • 3+ years managing Active Directory 2000/2003
  • 3+ years Veritas NetBackup administration
